Cf. Leonard Whiter, Spode (1970), pl. 74, 91 and 92. On p. 170 Whiter notes that the designs for the pattern were to a large extent sourced from Outlines from the Figures and Compositions upon the Greek and Etuscan Vases of the late Sir William Hamilton; with engraved borders. Drawn and engraved by the late Mr. Kirk (1804).
