A pair of Meissen lobed oval silver-shaped tureens and covers
Circa 1735, blue crossed swords mark to base of one tureen
Each with two ram's head and scroll handles, painted in the palette of J.E. Stadler with birds perched on flowering shrubs, the cover with a red and green diaper-pattern band reserved with four butterfly cartouches divided by flower-heads, below lotus-sprays, the rims and pierced crown finials enriched in gilding (one tureen with crack from rim near the handle through the base, base with ground rim chips, minute rim chip, small chip to one horn of a ram's head, the other with the horns of one ram's head chipped, the gilt cones surmounting the crown finials are restored replacements, slight restoration to top of crowns)
