A Meissen figure emblematic of Time
Circa 1755, traces of blue crossed swords mark to base and incised LL
Modelled by J.J. Kändler as a winged white-bearded old man scantily-draped in a flowered pale puce cloth, holding a circular watch-holder painted with flower-sprays and edged with elaborate gilt shell-scrolls, striding past rocks issuing flowering branches, a scantily-draped cherub seated at his feet, on a rockwork base applied with coloured flowers (scythe, part of Time's wings, right arm and part of watch-holder lacking, losses to branches, cherub's left hand and foot, cracks to base, minor chipping to flowers and foliage)
