a classical work of the versified love story of Farhad and Shirin written after the pattern of a similar work of Nizami in Persia, Turki manuscript on thick ivory paper, 248ff. as numbered plus two flyleaves, each with 16ll. of neat black naskh written in two columns, sometimes with further divisions, intercolumnar and interlinear lines in gold between black rules, gold margins between black rules, blue outer rule, occasional marginal notes in black, headings in Persian in gold outlined in black or blue, (minor staining or smudging, some folios dyed pink or yellow, last folio replaced), opening double folio with gold, silver and polychrome illumination, brown morocco binding with stamped central medallion (repaired, traces of gold)
