INDENTR.N.L.I. Medal "Voted in testimony of his services to nearly ninety persons who had been wrecked at different periods from ten vessels on the coast of Norfolk."

Captain Thomas Kisbee entered the Royal Navy 22 June 1808; Lieutenant 27 March l826 and transferred to the Coast Guard in July that year; lst Lieutenant, H.M.S. Driver, 7th September l841 and served on the Yangtse Kiang 1842-3 and during the disturbances in New Zealand 1846; Commander l5 February 1848; Captain l August l860

While serving in H.M. Coastguard, Lieutenant Kisbee developed the "Breeches Buoy" ("For Those in Peril" p. 59, by Michael Elder - refers). He was also awarded the First Class Silver Medal of the Norfolk Association for Preserving the Lives of Shipwrecked Mariners, 24 October l840
