INDENTSecond Lieutenant Frederick Robert Godfrey Spurgin of Twickenham, Middlesex, was killed in action 16 July 1916 and is buried in Roye New British Cemetery France. Chaz Bowyer in his book 'Flying Elephants' states: "June 16 proved to be a tragic day for 27. Of seven DH4s and DH9s sent to bomb Roye, four failed to return. The bombers were set upon by between 20 and 40 Triplanes, Albatros and Pfalz scouts from Jadgeschwader Nr 2 which included the crack Jagstaffel 15. The ensuing dogfight became a maelstrom of individual combats...2nd Lt Spurgin killed."

Second Lieutenant James Burleigh Caxton Knight became 2nd Lieutenant, Royal Flying Corps 14 January 1918 and 2nd Lt./Flying Officer 21 February; aged 18 years, Knight was killed whilst flying 15 April, 1918 and is buried in Cairo War Memorial Cemetery.
