INDENTLieutenant Thomas Gilbert Meautys, born 1889, educated at Marlborough and at Sandhurst, entered the 2nd West Yorks, 1909 and transferred to the 1st Bn. in India, January, 1910 to December, 1911; was appointed Battalion Machine Gun Officer on the outbreak of war and was mortally wounded while in the front line at the Battle of the Aisne 20 September, 1914 - he died two days later
