Lot Essay

INDENT M.C. London Gazette 22.9.1916. "For conspicuous gallantry during operations. He went over the parapet in broad daylight and brought in a wounded man who was lying 75 yards from the enemy trenches and 150 yards from our own. The man was severely wounded and had to be carried a few feet at a time."

Captain Henry Jephson Paddison, M.C. was gazetted to the Worcestershire Regiment from Sandhurst and was sent to the Front ,June 1916; he was wounded twice later that year and returned to the Front May, 1917. Advanced to Captain, he was killed instantaneously leading his Company in an attack (the Regimental History refers)
