Lot Essay

INDENTLieutenant The Honourable Keith Anthony Stewart, son of the Earl of Galloway, educated at Harrow and Sandhurst, entered the 2nd Bn. Black Watch as 2nd Lieutenant 12 August, 1914. He was killed in action at the Battle of Auber's Ridge 9 May 1915, leading his platoon in an attack; his body was found some three months later in August when a special search was made and was buried in the British Cemetery at Vieille Chapelle.
