Lot Essay

This lot is a particularly fine example of a cased hammer gun and it is unusual in retaining all of its original accessories; the presence of both the original game-scorer and the Lancaster place-finder are of additional interest. The makers have confirmed that it was completed in 1883 and it remains in excellent condition for its age
