A PAIR OF DRESDEN SIX-LIGHT GIRANDOLES of rococo-scroll-moulded form, the shaped-oval turquoise-glazed wall-plaques surmounted by two brightly coloured birds and reserved with portraits of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI, head and shoulders, within raised beaded heart-shaped cartouches flanked by the naked figures of two girl putti leaning languidly on the cartouches, one holding a spray of leaves, the other with a large plume, standing on a leaf and scroll plinth enriched in pink and gilding above a central dog's mask, a profusion of flowers applied around the rims, fitted with three tiers of scrolling arms suspending flower-clusters (parts of drip-pans lacking, chips to flowers and other extremities), the backs pierced for suspension, imitation blue crossed swords and dot marks, circa 1880
