Other pieces of Regency and earlier furniture have been recorded with this stamp and the address 59 Great Queen Street. No cabinet-maker corresponding to this description can be found in the London directories but an Abraham Solomon was trading in 1839 as a furniture broker. It is assumed that he stamped pieces that passed through his stock. He must be a strong candidate for having married the two parts of this table (see: The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers, Leeds, 1986, p.839)
