A TACHI, the blade honzukuri, iorimune, chugissaki and torii-zori with marudome bohi, hada obscured by shallow rust, midare hamon visible (tateware and kissaki chipped), ubu nakago partly re-worked, inscribed Sukezane but probably 15th century, 73cm long; in lacquer scabbard simulating cherry-bark, with mokkogata tachikanagushi tsuba engraved with karakusa, Muromachi period, the other fittings later, the shakudo and gilt menuki formed as harnessed horses
