Igra v adu was the first book produced by Oslinyi khvost (The
Donkey's Tail)
and is perhaps their most attractive and cohesive product. Published by their great supporters Kuz'min and Dolinskii the book was printed in an edition of 300 copies. This entirely futurist tale of a card game between devils and sinners in hell was so successful, both financially and artistically, that a second edition with revised text and illustrations by Rozanova and Malevich was published in 1914. Copies of the first edition in such good condition rarely appear on the market.
