Proof 1875 (c) De La Rue Recipe book ink trials, comprising dummy stamp blocks of four depicting Queen Victoria:- Receipt in "purple", Judicial in "purple-brown", Foreign Bill in "purple" and in "Cochineal red" (pairs of each to form a block), Telegraph 1/- in "purple" and Marine Policies in "Italian blue" (frames etc.) and "Dagman violet" (values), pairs of each to form a block in "Dagman violet" stating that Tyrian Purple would now be used; the Marine Policies affixed to original pieces, the others to photocopies.
