The Pasco Covers The recipient, Crawford Pasco, rose in rank from Lieutenant, R.N. to Commander R.N. and published "A Roving Commission" in 1897, detailing his naval reminniscences. Much of his active career was spent in H.M.S. Beagle and H.M.S. Royalist and much time was served in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Labuan, Borneo and the covers reflect this. Among the covers are several from his father, Admiral Pasco, who was on H.M.S. Victory at Trafalgar as the Senior, doing Signal-Officer duty, as was Lord Nelson's practice (the Junior acting as First-Lieutenant.
