Lot Essay

Baud was a pupil of Francis Goodwin (1784-1835) and entered the Royal Academy Schools in 1829, exhibiting there regularly until 1851. From 1826 to 1840 he assisted Sir Jeffrey Wyatville (1766-1840) in the rebuilding of Windsor Castle and in 1842, in conjunction with Michael Gandy (1778-1862), he published Architectural Illustrations of Windsor Castle, with text by John Britton.
