The ishime-ji shakudo base metal decorated in takabori, gold, silver, copper and iroe takazogan with huts in a pine grove, signed Nara Munetoshi; and the sentoku tsuchime-ji base metal decorated with karasu tengu from Mt. Kurama in takabori, gold and shakudo zogan, signed Otsuryuken Miboku and kao (4)

Lot Essay

The artist of the first piece could possibly be Nara Masanaga II, the son of the first generation who was a student of Toshinaga. Much of his work portrayed landscaped in takabori.

The artist of the second piece is the 3rd generation Miboku Nobuyuki (Masanobu 1756-1793). See footnote of lot 181.
