Lot Essay

Mori Jyoken's work is similar to the bakumatsu master metalworker, Honjo Yoshitane. Joken used to be a mask maker, living in Shimoya Nezu in Edo. Yoshitane who worked at the same time, lived in Shimoya Okachimachi. They were no doubt colleagues.
