Lot Essay

The origin of this pigeon is though to have been from Damascus, Syria. Others say they came from Turkey. Avery old breed, formerly know as Mohomet or Mawmet, was referred to in 1676 but it was not until 1869 that an English Fancier exhibited them under their present name. The Damascene was seen as a flying breed in the Middle East some thirty years ago
