The Morris Cowley arrived on the scene in 1915, joining the smaller Oxford. After the first world war Morris used the Hotchkiss 1½-litre four cylinder side valve engine in both the Oxford and Cowley, the Cowley differing from the Oxford mainly in its more austere equipment and the absence of a starter. The bullnoses were soon best-sellers backed by a nationwide service organisation, and in 1925 Morris outsold all his competitors with 54,000 cars.

This Morris Cowley has been with its present lady owner for almost twenty years and was last taxed in 1984. Until recently it has been on display in a small country museum. The car may be described as sound, the engine is free, but should perhaps be given a cursory inspection before attempting to start it. The original upholstery and hood are in fair condition and the other period features include the tool box, petrol can, headlamps and spare wheel on the running board. Gabriel snubber shock absorbers are fitted. The brass windscreen frame is in good condition although the glass is starting to turn opaque.

Both the original log book (showing only five owners) and V5 are available as well as a period car manual.
