When the E-Type appeared in 1961 it speedily changed the perception of sportscar enthusiasts. It was faster, more powerful and better sprung than any of its popular rivals and considering its advantages it was by no means expensive. The E-Type was developed progressively, gaining a 4.2-litre engine in 1964.

The Series II model appeared in 1969 with various features changed to improve passenger comfort, but the most noticable change was the windscreen which was raked towards the rear giving a more sporty profile.

This roadster has a quantity of documentation showing the previous owners, the Jaguar vehicle information sheet and a number of invoices. It was originally supplied in the UK and left the factory in December 1969, but the colour has been changed from white to Carnival Red. Work on the car includes engine and bodywork restoration in 1980 (bills available), and in 1988 over (3,000 was spent with special attention given to the rear differential, front and rear suspension, brakes, steering rack, new core plugs were fitted and at the same time the engine was flushed. Other work included adjustment of the timing chain.

The car is running very well with good oil pressure and overall is very hard to fault apart from slight crazing on the bonnet due to engine heat.
