A FRENCH SILVER-HILTED SMALL-SWORD with slender blade of hollow-triangular section etched at the forte on one face with fleur-de-lys and 'Vive Louis XVI', and with scrollwork and a trophy of arms on the other, the hilt, including the grip, pierced and chased throughout with a basket-work design bearing bunches and festoons of flowers in low relief, circa 1780; and another, with slender blade of hollow-triangular section, etched on the broad and two narrow faces of the forte respectively 'Maupetit Fourbisseur Au Duc D'Orleans A Bout Du Pont St.Michel A Paris', silver-gilt hilt (knuckle-guard replaced) with rococo scrollwork framing trophies of arms and instruments, and wire-bound wooden grip (binding later), circa 1760
