A FRENCH SILVER-HILTED SMALL-SWORD with slender blade (tip missing) of hollow-triangular section, the forte blued, etched and gilt with foliate scrolls and trophies, the hilt gilt in two colours of gold and cast, chased and pierced throughout with a trellis pattern formed of quartrefoil flowers, the borders, arms, quillon and knuckle-guard pierced with a guilloche pattern, and wire-bound wooden grip (binding incomplete, knuckle-guard a working replacement), circa 1770
