A SWEDISH RIDING SWORD with slightly curved single-edged blade double-edged towards the point, iron hilt retaining traces of punched decoration and comprising single down-scrolled rear quillon, guard filled with pierced plates (one repaired), thumb-ring on the inside, knuckle-guard, flattened pear-shaped pommel, and spirally fluted wooden grip bound with steel wire (lightly pitted throughout), circa 1630
