A GEORGE II GILTWOOD MIRROR with rectangular bevelled plate on a pounced ground, the acanthus-carved scrolled broken pediment centred by a pierced cartouche and surmounted by a grotesque mask flanked by vigorous paper scrolls above a moulded cornice centred by a scallop shell with acanthus sprays, the auricular inner frame with a sanded ground and foliate-carved pierced moulding mounted with rosettes to the angles, with bell husks to the sides and terminated by the scrolled volutes carved with grotesque masks, above a shaped pierced apron centred by a scallop shell, restorations and regilt 62½in. x 34½in. (159 x 88cm.)
