Four Ivory netsuke
19th Century
Of a seated karako with a movable tongue, wearing a stained kimono with inlay and a small silvered plaque, signed Yasumasa, some inlay missing; a shishimai dancer seated with a drum and a mask beside him, with aogai and stained ivory inlay, signed Gyokuzan, chip and old repair; a seated courtier, holding a fan on his lap, his head movable, signed Yasuaki and with a Kodama seal; and the farmer from the story of the Tongue Cut Sparrow, lifting the lid of a basket full of treasures, aogai inlay, signed Yasuaki with seal, small inlay missing
1½in. (3.7cm), 1 1/8in. (2.9cm.) 1in. (2.4cm.) and 1¼in. (3cm.) high respectively (4)
