A PAIR OF MEISSEN TAPERING OCTAGONAL CHINOISERIE BEAKERS and a pair of octagonal saucers, the beakers painted in the manner of J.G. Höroldt, with continuous scenes of a couple seated around a table taking tea beside a spotted dog and an Oriental feeding birds, a lady tending a potted plant, a man picking flowers and another with a cooking-pot watched by a dog on terraces among flowering plants, some figures enriched with Böttger lustre, the saucers in the manner of J.E. Stadler with indianische Blumen issuing from a central medallion of an Oriental in a sampan beside a pagoda and the undersides with two iron-red flowering prunus branches, the borders of all pieces with interlocking gilt scrollwork and dots and gilt rims (minor rim chipping to beakers and slight loss to gilding and rubbing to enamels on saucers), blue crossed swords marks within double circles, circa 1728 (4)
