A FINE OVER-AND-UNDER FLINTLOCK POCKET PISTOL with blued octagonal barrels signed in gold on the ribs and with two gold lines on the breech of the upper barrel and a single line on that of the lower one, silver fore-sight, platinum vents, engraved tang, signed and engraved bolted locks each with blued external mainspring, rainproof pan, roller, and 'French' cock (one safety-catch replaced), chequered figured walnut butt, vacant gold escutcheon, foliate engraved silver mounts including spurred pommel with vacant gold cap, and blued steel ramrod with chequered tip, retaining much original finish throughout, by Joseph Egg, No.1 Piccadilly, London, No.2489, circa 1821
