used 3d. deep blue on blue, showing pronounced doubling throughout, fine appearance, faint central stain, tiny blue ink mark at top where there is a small defect, and light horizontal crease. Only three examples of this variety have been recorded - the others being in the Maria de la Queillerie and Sir Maxwell Joseph collections - and all have faults.
