A VICTORIAN AXMINSTER CARPET, the brick-red field with an overall design of rosette cusped quatrefoils linked by small floral motifs, in a broad sandy-yellow scrolling acanthus border with curved spandrels filled by stylised vases and swags between brick-red spiralling ribbon stripes, plain outer burgundy stripe (cut for fireplace, minor cuts in one other border, excellent pile, reduced in length)
