A MINIATURE SATSUMA BOTTLE VASE with tall garlic neck painted in coloured enamels and gilt with children at play variously riding hobby horses, flying kites, playing musical instruments and practicing archery, all on a pale blue ground, the neck and foot with a band of geometric patterns, signed Yabu Meizan, 19th century, fitted wood box, the cover inscribed Satsuma yaki ichirin-ike (vase for one flower, Satsuma ware), sealed Koninshi and dated Meiji 41 (1908), 9th month, label on inside of cover printed 'Yabu Meizan.
