A ROUND IRON TSUCHIMEJI TSUBA, the thick plate pierced in yosukashi with bamboo leaves, karigane and warabite, slight kebori to the plate, the round rim imitating bamboo, some linear tekkotsu, Suruga school, 17th century, 7.2cm.; an oval iron tsuchimeji tsuba decorated in iroe takazogan with a Chinese sage and karako, the plate with granular tekkotsu, Nara school, 18th century, 6.6cm.; and a mokkogata iron tsuba, the thin tsuchimeji plate carved in takabori with a monkey reaching for a crab, Nara school, 18th century, 7.4cm.
