The following eight lots were collected by Lt. Col. A. A. Farley (1849-1906) of the Royal Regiment of Artillery (later the Royal Canadian Artillery). Farley was at the battle of Cut Knife Hill (when two Gatling Guns were first tested), was on the 1885 campaign to suppress the Métis uprising in the North West, and for a number of years commanded the Citadel, Quebec. He was born and died in Belleville, Ontario. The group is sent for sale by his granddaughter
