The case with handle to break-arch top, pierced brass fish scale sound frets to the sides and on brass bracket feet, the silvered engraved dial signed Char:Bayles, Margate in the centre with calendar aperture, Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, foliate engraved spandrels, strike/silent ring in the arch, the five pillar twin fusee (wirelines) movement with verge escapement and strike/trip repeat on bell, the backplate engraved with a central basket of fruit and flowers within formal scrolling foliage, similarly engraved movement securing brackets to the case.
