Lithographic title with vignette of ruins of Sardes, lithographic dedication and 79 plates after Laborde and Dedreux plate XLIV, the panorama of Ephesus on 2 double-page leaves, 11 of the plates double-page or folding, mostly with sepia or grey tints, a few partly coloured in red, historiated tinted woodcut initial and border by Fragonard decorating the first leaf of the introduction. (Some staining and spotting.) Contemporary red morocco gilt, covers with broad gilt dentelle borders incorporating floral and pineapple tools, spine gilt in seven sections decorated with thistle motifs, blue morocco lettering pieces, gilt inner dentelles, g.e.
FIRST EDITION. A fine copy of Laborde's rare work on Asia Minor bound up from the parts. The 79 plates comprise 165 views and panoramas, illustrating the travels of Laborde and his father Alexandre de Laborde around Asia Minor and Syria from 1826 to 1828.
