Provenance: Earls of Hopetoun (early 19th-century bookplate); George Norwell (contemporary ownership inscription and annotations). A classic 16th-century discussion of usury, in lively dialogue form, unusual for being by a civil lawyer (also diplomat and secretary of state.) (See edition with valuable introduction by R.H. Contemporary vellum (worn and darkened). (Some waterstaining.) Provenance: James Livingston (contemporary ownership inscription); Earls of Hopetoun (NB the Scottish provenance: Mosse was patronised by members of the Scottish nobility).
