As Dr. Ward kindly points out, this drawing finds its closest parallel in the sheet at Stockholm (R.B. Ward, Baccio Bandinelli as a Draughtsman, unpublished Ph.D. thesis, University of London, 1982, no. 386): a similar study is at Vienna, V. Birke and J. Kertész, Die Italienischen Zeichnungen der Albertina, Vienna, 1992, no. 301, illustrated. Dr. Ward considers the present drawing 'a particularly good example'
