The numbering on this and the following drawing suggests they both come from an album. As the drawings date from different periods it is likely that the album was a selection of studies. The present drawing might be a primo pensiero for the Dead Christ in Sant' Agata at Brescia, M. Polazzo, Antonio Balestra, Verona, 1978, pl. 49
