One of the finest Italian fête books of the early 17th century, describing the festivities sponsored by Cardinal Antonio Barberini (brother of Pope Urban VIII) and designed by Marchese Cornelio Bentivoglio for the visit of Prince Alexander-Charles of Poland to Rome. The plates include depictions of the Prince's entry into Rome, a ballet in the Palazzo Barberini, a decorated barge holding an entire orchestra, and on the large folding plate a spectacular bird's-eye view of the Piazza Navona where a tournament is being held, while the barge is being drawn into the square.
