Jones began a series of drawings of elephants, tigers and antelopes at London Zoo in 1928. A group of these works were exhibited at the Mansard Gallery at Heal's in a special exhibition devoted to the animal drawings in 1930, and Jones exhibited two drawings of an elephant at the Goupil Gallery, London, in March 1929.
