Mary, sister of Andrew Carrick Gow, studied at the Queen's Square School of Art and at Heatherley's. She exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1873 and 1885 and showed frequently at the New Watercolour Society, being elected a member in 1875 and resigning in 1903. She married the artist Sydney Prior Hall
