The Notitia Dignitatum is a list of high officials of the Roman empire compiled in about 400AD. The present work is the first complete edition of the text (taken from a manuscript copy at Speier) and the first with illustrations. Also printed are a tract by Andrea Alciati on Roman military and civil organization, the topographical description of Rome by Publius Victor, and a collection of enigmas in the form of a dialogue, the Altercatio Adriani Augusti et Epiceti philosophi.
