The Overland first appeared in 1903 and was initially made at Terre Haute, Indiana designed by Claude Cox and funded by Charles Minshall of the Standard Wheel Company. Following a change of location to Indianapolis and a new backer, the company was in serious difficulties by 1907, until John North Willys a car dealer from Elmira, New York took over and in 1909 production moved to Toledo, Ohio.

This Edwardian Overland Tourer came to the UK from New Zealand in 1989, and is a very large vehicle quite capable of carrying five passengers. Importantly for the UK it is a right hand drive vehicle. Its last MoT expired in June 1990 and whilst it has not been started recently the engine is in running order although we are informed the fuel tank may require cleaning. Generally the vehicle seems in a sound condition, but perhaps could benefit from a sympathetic restoration to take it back to its former glory.
