ink and watercolour heightened with gold on paper, in an extremely finely drawn rocky landscape overlooked by a small town in the background, a prince on horseback accompanied by four attendants on foot chases a lion which has fallen wounded beside a stream, a second lion watches from the rocks above, while around it deer, hares and foxes run from the hunters, in double borders of gold scrolling vine between black rules, on pale pink leaf with gold Chinese cloud motifs and flowers, (negligible wear), reverse with lines of black nasta'liq in black-outlined clouds on gold ground, signed by Shadi/Shaji Muhammad and dated 27th Rabi' I 1021/29th May 1612, in similar borders to obverse, framed and glazed
