A FINE OTTOMAN DAGGER, the gently curving double-edged watered steel blade with a medial ridge linking gold damascened palmette panels, a cupsed cartouche above with floral sprays, the waisted faceted jade hilt with plain band above and below, each carved with a central part flowerhead, the top with a flowerhead flanked by leaves, the cloth-covered wooden sheath with silver-gilt mounts above and below, each with cusped rim, mostly plain save for lightly engraved and pounced floral sprays within a lappet border, applied rope and bead-work bands above and below, attachment loop on one side, the terminal in the form of a ridged leaf, single sah hallmark, 18th century (damascening slightly rubbed)
