A KASHAN LUSTRE AND COBALT BLUE GLAZED JUG of shallow flaring strongly ribbed form with flaring neck and simple loop handle on short flaring foot, the exterior ribs painted in lustre with plain panels alternating with naskh inscription panels divided by scrolling arabesque panels, the rim with a similar band of kufic, the light cobalt-blue interior with a band of lustre naskh calligraphy around the rim, 13th century (very slight restoration to rim, handle restored) 5½in. (14.1cm.) high
