AN UNUSUAL PAIR OF FLINTLOCK PISTOLS with long rebrowned twist sighted barrels with full-length top flat, each breech with two gold lines, gold-lined touch-hole, later gold maker's mark and three gold fleur-de-lys, engraved case-hardened tangs, signed case-hardened detented bevelled locks each with roller, gold-lined semi-rainproof pan and blued safety-catch also locking the steel (cocks replaced), figured walnut half-stocks, chequered butts, engraved blued iron mounts, set triggers, and horn-tipped ramrods, with attachable shoulder-stock: in lined and fitted mahogany case, probably original, with accessories including bag-shaped flask covered in red leather, by Durs Egg, London, early 19th Century
