This form of chiffonier with florid drawer-handles within serpentined panels, veneered à quatre faces, featured on mid eighteenth century items bearing the brand of Pierre Roussel, created maître ébéniste in 1745.
A Leonard William Collmann is recorded in George Street, Portman Square in the 1870s, but is described as an estate agent rather than furniture dealer.
