A FOUR-LOBED (MOKKOGATA) BOX AND COVER with pewter rims; the design of a lakeside temple entrance in 16th century style, probably first half of the 16th century; and a rectangular lacquer box and cover with pewter rims, the latter depicting the lunar hare among clumps of "longing fer", shinobugusa, in gilt lacquer on a lightly sprinkled hirame ground, the inside cover bears a stylised rindo or gentian mon popular with the Minomoto clan, in gilt lacquer on a hirame ground, early 17th century
